Boot season

Boot Season Is Here And We Have Thoughts

Look. Summer was cute. But the first morning you walk outside and actually feel that little chill, something in you wakes up. Boot season is the superior season and we will not be taking questions. The good news is you do not need a closet full of them. Three pairs. That is the whole assignment.

Ankle boots first, because they do the heavy lifting. The sleek ones are winning right now, so skip anything with a giant chunky sole and go for a slim shape with a low heel or a flat bottom. Straight leg jeans with the hem just barely hitting the top of the boot? That is the one. A cropped pant and a long coat? Instant put together. And an ankle boot under a midi skirt with black tights is the kind of outfit that makes people ask where you shop. You do not have to tell them.

Now combat boots, which have chilled out a lot. They are less army surplus and more soft and slouchy now, usually suede, usually brown, and honestly the aura is immaculate. The rule is contrast. Wear them under a flowy floral dress. Wear them with wide leg jeans so just the toe shows. Wear them with a blazer and let everybody clock it. If the boot matches your whole fit too perfectly it starts looking like a costume. Let it fight the outfit a little.

And then knee boots, which are doing the absolute most while you do the absolute least. The riding boot look is back, tall and slim with barely any buckles or hardware. Wear them over leggings or a skinny jean so nothing bunches. Wear them under a midi dress with a few inches of leg showing. Or throw on a sweater dress, add a belt, and you are out the door in four minutes looking like you tried for forty.

Here is the thing nobody thinks about. The boots sitting in the back of your closet that you have not touched in two years are money. Feet change. Style changes. You change. Those knee boots you were obsessed with a while back might just not be your vibe anymore, and that is fine. Bring them in. We buy boots, we pay cash on the spot, and if you want to roll it right into a new pair we will give you 20% more in store credit.

That is our favorite part of fall around here. Your old boots go home with somebody who is going to love them, you walk out with cash or a fresh pair, and nothing ends up in a landfill. Everything on our floor runs about 70% off retail, new stuff hits daily, and most of it is one of a kind. So if you spot the pair, that is the pair. Do not put it down and think about it. You know how this goes.
