There is officially one day a year for making a difference. Great, we love it, we will throw a party. But one day is a weird way to measure anything. What about the other three hundred and sixty four?
Here is what happens here on all of them. Every single week we put real money back into this community. Not a donation announced at the end of the year. Cash, across the counter, to women who walked in with a bag. That money goes to groceries and gas and the kid’s cleats. It does not leave.
Every week we also keep thousands of pieces of clothing out of a landfill. Stuff that was headed for a trash bag goes home with somebody who actually wears it instead. Nothing new had to be made for that to happen. Our Mother Earth is doing enough already.
We are a local employer and we pay well above what retail usually pays, plus weekly bonuses. The women who work here can afford to work here. That should be the bare minimum and somehow it is not.
And then the fun part, which still counts. Special deals, free gifts, free personal shopping where somebody who knows every rack pulls pieces for you while you sit. A free color analysis quiz, when every other app out there charges you to find out what looks good on you. And prices around 70% off retail, so a whole outfit costs what one sweater costs at the mall.
We are not saying all this to be smug. We are saying it because it is a fair question to ask about anywhere your money goes.
What difference is that store making in your life? In your neighborhood? You hand over your money, and then what? Does any of it ever come back?
That is the entire point of this place. Best prices, best service, and women taking care of women, which we mean literally. One woman lets go of what she has outgrown and gets paid. Another finds the thing she was looking for at a price that does not sting. Everybody wins and nothing gets wasted.
Come see what came in. And bring us what you are not wearing. That is how the whole thing works.
