Woman in a Red had and blue leather jacket with fall background

Your Closet Is Beige And We Need To Talk

Be honest with us. How many brown sweaters do you own? And olive. And that one grey that you already have in three slightly different versions. Every single September we all do this. We walk in, we grab the neutral, we feel very autumnal about it, and then by the middle of October the closet looks like a bowl of oatmeal.

But actually go look outside. Fall is not beige. There is rust and gold and deep red and a little leftover green all happening at once. Autumn is showing off. Meanwhile we are over here in head to toe taupe.

So no, we are not telling you to get rid of your neutrals. Keep them. Brown, olive, camel and grey are the canvas, not the whole painting. They are what makes one bright piece look like you meant it instead of like you got dressed in the dark. One pop is all it takes.

And where you put it matters. Color near your face does the heavy lifting, so a scarf is the easiest win there is. A blazer is next, because it frames you without taking over. After that a handbag or a boot in a color nobody expects is such a good little surprise.

Now which color, because this is the part that actually matters. Soft and cool coloring? A light blue scarf against a grey sweater is going to look so good on you. Deep and clear? A royal blue blazer over chocolate brown. Sharp, intentional, that ate. Warm and rich? Olive with a true tomato red is one of the best combos out there and people will absolutely clock it. Warm and light? Butter yellow with chocolate brown, which sounds odd and looks incredible.

No idea which one you are? Take our color quiz. TAP HERE TO TAKE THE QUIZ: https://springfieldpa.clothesmentor.com/pages/what-color-is-me-find-your-color-season   It takes a few minutes and honestly it changes how you shop, because you can walk past most of a rack without even slowing down.

Then come dig. Scarves, blazers, bags and sweaters are all over our floor right now, and since every piece came from somebody right here in the neighborhood, the colors are different every single day. Everything is about 70% off retail, so trying a color you have never worn in your life costs you almost nothing.

And if you have stuff at home in colors that never felt right on you, bring it in. We want designer and better brands, we price designer individually and pay a premium for the good stuff, and you can take cash on the spot or 20% more in store credit toward a color that actually works.
